DATE: May 14, 2012 -COUNTRY: Singapore PORT: Singapore Construction of solid handling pier & protection bund

From 14 May to 13 November 2012, works to construct a solid handling pier and protection bund at Ayer Chawan, Jurong Island.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.67 of 2012, the works will be carried out 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within a working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum): A)  01° 17.074’N / 103° 42.002’E B)  01° 17.137’N / 103° 41.961’E C)  01° 17.105’N / 103° 41.931’E D)  01° 17.148’N / 103° 41.885’E     (PAC Toa 1/ Yellow Buoy/ FL Y 2s) E)  01° 17.272’N / 103° 41.999’E     (PAC Toa 2/ Yellow Buoy/ FL Y 4s) E1) 01° 17.186’N / 103° 42.031’E F)  01° 17.117’N / 103° 42.071’E     (PAC Toa 2A/ Yellow Buoy/ FL Y 8s) F1) 01° 17.112’N / 103° 42.064’E G)  01° 17.100’N / 103° 42.044’E     (PAC Toa 3/ Yellow Bouy /FL Y 6s) H)  01° 17.074’N / 103° 42.060’E I)  01° 17.250’N / 103° 42.069’E J)  01° 17.209’N / 103° 42.088’E

Construction of the jetty will entail piling, concrete works, installation of walkways, marine fendering system and mooring facilities. Piling and concrete works will be carried out by work barges.

Construction of the protection san bund wall will also be carried out within the working area.

Safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity to warn other craft of the project work.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to: (a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area; (b) Maintain a proper lookout; (c) Proceed at a safe speed & navigate with caution; (d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control); and (e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22, for assistance, if required.

DATE: May 14, 2012 – COUNTRY: Singapore – PORT: Singapore  -Dredging at St Marine Waterfront off Tuas Bay

From 23 May to 24 July 2012, dredging works will be conducted at St Marine Waterfront off Tuas Bay.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.62 of 2012, the works will be conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Pu8blic Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum): 01) 1° 18.394’N / 103° 38.858’E 02) 1° 18.374’N / 103° 38.878’E 03) 1° 18.278’N / 103° 38.791’E 04) 1° 18.297’N / 103° 38.770’E

Dredging works will be carried out by a Dredger “Asia Link” held in position with anchors. The dredger, with hopper barges in attendance, will have a circular safety working zone of 50-metre radius centred at the dredger. Dredged materials will be transported to the designated dumping ground by the hopper barges assisted by pusher tugs.

The tug boats will be used to shift the dredger, when required to clear the fairway for vessels. Safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity to warn the other craft of the project work off the working area. Contact with the safety boats can be made via VHF Channel 08.
