DATE: July 24, 2012 COUNTRY: Turkey PORT: Turkish Straits Vessel engine failure in Bosphorus
A vessel suffered a starboard engine failure in the Bosphorus around Uskudar area at around 09:41 hours local time today (24 July).
A salvage operation has commenced, using two tugs is towing the vessel to anchorage area for safety formalities.
Bosphorus traffic was not affected.

Tomorrow (Wednesday 25 July) is a local holiday in Guayaquil, and most public services will be closed. Ports and terminals, however, will work normally during these day.
The GAC-Ultramar Network Guayaquil office will be closed, but a skeleton staff will be attending port operations and e-mails will be checked on a regular basis.
