Construction of Jetty 2 at Jurong Island

From 13 November 2013 to 13 May 2014, construction works for Jetty No.2 at
Jurong Island will be carried out.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine
Notice No.150 of 2013 dated 12 November 2013, the works will be conducted
24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working
area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 1 deg. 16.518′N / 103 deg. 39.759′E
2) 1 deg. 16.413′N / 103 deg. 39.611′E
3) 1 deg. 16.495′N / 103 deg. 39.554′E
4) 1 deg. 16.578′N / 103 deg. 39.717′E

Construction of the proposed Jetty 2 will be carried out by piling barges,
crane barges and working barges with the support of tug boats. The tug
boats will also serve as safety boats.

Piling barges and crane barges will be held in position by 4 anchors.

Compression load test will be carried out by the means of statnamic test
followed by tension test.

Piling works will be carried out using piling barge. This is followed by
steel and concrete works. The last sequence will be the installation of
fendering and mooring facilities.

All crafts and equipment will be demobilized from the working area after
completion of works.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and
international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
(a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
(b) Maintain a proper lookout;
(c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
(d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
(e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if
required.

Change to application of politage & towage services

There has been a change in the application of pilotage and towage services
at Turkish Ports. Reduction on total towage number is now almost not
applicable unless the vessel fullfils the thrusting requirements.

VESSELS TO TAKE PÝLOT:
1) Tankers of 500 GRT and above, and vessels carrying all kinds of
hazardous/IMO cargo
2) Vessels with Turkish Flag of 1000 GRT and above
3) Vessels with Foreign Flag of 500 GRT and above
4) Commercial and private yachts with Foreign Flag above 1000 GRT
5) Foreign military vessels coming and leaving non-military
terminals/facilities

VESSELS NOT SUBJECT TO TOWAGE REDUCTÝON:
1) Tankers carrying LPG, LNG, hazardous and inflammable IMO cargo
2) Vessels with LOA above 200 M
3) Vessels making entry-exit from/to dock at shipyard
4) Vessels with ýnadequate thruster total power compared to values stated

Brazil Republic Day

Republic Day will be celebrated in Brazil on Friday (15 November). GAC
Brazil’s offices will be manned by skeleten staff and messages will be
regularly checked.

Ports and airports will operate as normal on the holiday.
