The shipping markets in turmoil; the BDI still down 1, 121 points  – 50 centum in  50 days…’s fifth overview of the Shipping Markets and the World Economy for 2014 with John Faraclas who recovered from his cold…

The BDI  closed earlier on at 1, 106 + 9  and up 15 from last week’s 1, 091 despite the fact it went a bit further down, ready to prepare us for the under the 1, 000 point-mark era(?)…

The Capes and the BCI where down 3 points to 1, 554 but, overall, was down from last week’s 1, 588, that is 34 points. The Panamaxes followed suit with -2 points down at 1311,  but  overall was up seven points… These two categories were until now the movers and shakers of the general index… Now the BSI and the BHSI made the “headlines” upwards  at 998 up 33 and 671 up 3 since yesterday and +69 and – 3 respectively from 629   and  674 respectively from the previous week.

The above and other world issues, including the bad weather in the UK and politics, can be seen in the live video herebelow; Happy Valentines!
