This year’s Athens Classic Marathon was a personal triumph for Kenyan Felix Kandie setting a new record at 2H 10M and 37Secs, Second and third come his compatriots Raymond Bett and Josphat Chobei respectively with 2H 12M and 34 Secs and 2H 15M and 38Secs! Naomi Mayo from Kenya too was the first woman at 2H 41M and 05Secs with Nancy Roitz second and Tindla third. It was also very touching to see the shipping fraternity participating en mass; many friends and supporters of allaboutshipping being amongst them: George Teriakidis from DNV GL, Harry Cosmatos from TEN – and what about his father’s encouraging hug and kiss-go for it, John N. Cotzias, Intermodal Shipbrokers, Frangoulis Sp. Andreadis a shipping man in his own right , friend and relative who did well at 55′ 02″, Frangoulis kept the Anargyrios Flag high in the post of life, George Evgenidis from the University of Piraeus’  shipping faculty, Konstantinos Lazaridis from Queensway Navigation, Thanos Pallis a Maritime Academic, Chris Vartzis from Stephenson Hardwood, Maria Dimara, Maria Sotiriou, Konstantina Tzamtzi and many many more – see our next update!
