The work is now being conducted from 01 December 2014 to 30 May 2015.

According to the Port Marine Notice No.144 of 2014 released by Maritime and Port Authority of Singpore, the works are being carried out 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

Work will include reclamation, dredging, soil investigation, caisson

construction, demolition of the de-commissioned Pasir Panjang wharves,

removal of submarine cables and pipelines, and construction of container

berth.

Dredging work will be carried out by dredgers attended by tug boats.

Safety boats will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn

other craft and vessels of the work.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:

a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area ;

b) Maintain a proper lookout;

c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;

d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 25 (Pasir Panjang

Control); and

e) Communicate with Pasir Panjang Control on VHF Channel 25

for assistance, if required.

Update: Reclamation Work off Temasek Fairway, West of Jurong Island

The work is now being conducted from 01 December 2014 to 01 Jun 2015.

According to the Port Marine Notice No.143 of 2014 released by Maritime and Port Authority of Singpore, the works are being carried out 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

1) 1 deg. 16.341’N / 103 deg. 39.367’E

2) 1 deg. 15.393’N / 103 deg. 39.816’E

3) 1 deg. 15.295’N / 103 deg. 39.577’E

4) 1 deg. 15.772’N / 103 deg. 39.385’E

5) 1 deg. 15.759’N / 103 deg. 39.353’E

6) 1 deg. 15.801’N / 103 deg. 39.309’E

7) 1 deg. 16.012’N / 103 deg. 39.224’E

8) 1 deg. 16.138’N / 103 deg. 39.224’E

Work will include reclamation, soil investigation & dredging.

Dredging work will be carried out by grab dredgers. Each grab dredger will be held by 3 spuds as anchors. The dredgers, with hopper barges in attendance, will have a circular safety working zone of 50-metre radius center at the dredgers. Dredged materials will be transported to the

designated dumping ground by hopper barges.

During operation, the dredgers will be attended by tug boats which will be used to shift the dredger.

Soil investigation work will be carried out by means of borehole drilling using jack-up barges. One jack-up barge will be working on only one borehole at a time.

The jack-up barge, with tug boats in attendance, will have a circular safety working zone of 30 meters radius centered at the barge. Tugboats will be used for shifting the barge from one borehole location to another.

A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn

other craft of the project.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:

a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;

b) Maintain a proper lookout;

c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;

d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control); and

e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.

PB Towage Rates at Mackay Harbour

PB Towage have commenced the towage contract at Mackay Harbour, effective from 1st Dec, 2014.Schedule of rate are as follows:

Up to 5, 000 tonnes

GST Exclusive: $2, 050

GST Inclusive: $2, 255

5, 001 to 10, 000 tonnes

GST Exclusive:$3, 240

GST Inclusive:$3, 564

10, 001 to 15, 000 tonnes

GST Exclusive:$4, 380

GST Inclusive:$4, 818

15, 001 to 20, 000 tonnes

GST Exclusive:$5, 270

GST Inclusive:$5, 797

20, 001 to 25, 000 tonnes

GST Exclusive:$6, 140

GST Inclusive:$6, 754

25, 001 to 30, 000 toones

The above service charges cover the first two hours of the Services provided by the Towage Company and are payable by the Port Customer even if the Services are completed in a shorter time. The time period starts from the time when the Tug departs the tug berth until the Tug is released by the Pilot on completion of the shipping movement, except for extended escort duties where the time shall count from tug berth to tug berth.

If the Port Customer, their agent, pilot or Harbour Master cancels or varies a booking within 2 hours of the booked time, the Towage Company has the right to charge:

1)if cancellation or variation is made within 1 hour of the booked time: 100% of the Services Charges;or

2)if cancellation or variation is made within 2 hours of the booked time: 50% of the Services Charges.

If the Towage Company provides any Services for any period beyond the Minimum Period and which are not due to any default or delay by the Towage Company, the Port Customer will be charged for each hour or part thereof, at an hourly rate of 50% of the Services Charges applicable to those Services until the Services are completed.

Special services (eg. fire fighting, oil spills cleaning) will be charged at $2.500.00 (ex GST) per hour per Tug. plus consumables.

A Dead Ship movement will be charged at 150% of the Services Charges.

All towage is undertaken in accordance with United Kingdom Standard Conditions of Towage and

Other Services (Revised 1986).
