US port delays force shippers to look skywards
The recent US west coast port congestion issues have temporarily reversed the long-term modal shift from air to ocean as shippers seek alternative ways to ensure their goods hit the stores in time for the US holiday season, said Drewry in its latest report Container Insight Weekly.

The European Shippers’ Council (ESC) sees the forming of alliances as a risky development for a free market for transportation of goods over sea. The global market will be in the hands of four major players.
