USE OF SHIPS’ LIFTING APPARATUS

Use of ships’ lifting apparatus

Please be informed that Abu Dhabi Ports reserves the right to refuse the use of ships’ lifting apparatus without valid certification and / or if the apparatus is assessed by the HSE inspectors to be substandard due to, amongst other things:- Crane malfunctions that includes the crane hydronic system and pneumatic system.- Outreach of crane is not fulfilling the operational requirement.

 

– Failure in control systems.

 

– Failure in emergency stop function.

 

– Failure of crane wire / cable.

 

– Power supply problems / potential problems.

 

– Corrosion / Long-term abrasion.

 

– Bent or cracked hooks.

 

– Absence of hook safety latch.

 

If a ship’s lifting apparatus is rejected, the ship agent will be requested to use the available mobile shore cranes of Abu Dhabi Ports.
