Ships of 125m length or more and/or draft greater than 6.5m are currently facing a wait of about six hours prior to entering Kiel-Canal at Kiel-Holtenau.However, as the New South Lock Chamber at Holtenau will be back in service fromtomorrow morning (10 September), it is expected that the waiting times will be reduced shortly.(For information about operations in Germany contact the GAC UK Hub Agency Centre Sartori & Berger, Germany – GAC agent
Grounding in the Bosphorus

A bulk carrier vessel ran aground at Umuryeri Point in the Bosphorus at 05:00 hours local time this morning (Wednesday 9 September).There was no pilot on board and no damage has been reported to the 177-metre vessel. Coastal Safety immediately employed a tug to assist.The Bosphorus remains open to transit traffic.For information about operations in the Turkish Straits contact GAC Istanbul
