Demolition of jetty at power station

The working period has been extended for the demolition of a jetty at the Pasir Panjang Power Station. The work will now be conducted from 23 October to 22 December.According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.126 of 2015, the work will be carried out between 0800 and 1900 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 16.112’N / 103 deg. 47.888’E
2) 01 deg. 16.068’N / 103 deg. 47.871’E
3) 01 deg. 16.041’N / 103 deg. 47.917’E
4) 01 deg. 16.007’N / 103 deg. 47.900’E
5) 01 deg. 16.111’N / 103 deg. 47.723’E
6) 01 deg. 16.144’N / 103 deg. 47.749’E
7) 01 deg. 16.101’N / 103 deg. 47.823’E
8) 01 deg. 16.137’N / 103 deg. 47.849’E

The demolition work will be carried out by crane barge assisted by tug boats. Divers will also be deployed for underwater cutting work.

A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn other craft and vessels of the work.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 21 (Sembawang Control);
and
e) Communicate with Sembawang Control on VHF Channel 21 for assistance, if required.

Port charges revision

Port charges will be increased for tankers calling at Mina Al Fahal, Oman, from 1 November 2015.The main revision for tankers calling to load crude oil is the increase of port dues from 0.0525 OMR to 0.110 OMR per vessel GRT, effective from 1 November.

Documents to be submitted for first-time transits

Further to Article 58 of the Suez Canal Rules of Navigation edition of August 2015 concerning escorting tugs according to the Suez Canal net tonnage of transiting vessels, shipping agencies of vessels that transit for the first time must submit the following documents at enough time before transit (one week at least):
1. Suez Canal tonnage certificate with full calculation sheets
2. General Arrangement plan (with scale)
3. Capacity plan
4. Engine room arrangement plan (with sale)
to the survey section at the port of entry (Port Said or Port Tewfik)……Unless the agency submits the  afore mentioned documents and the Suez Canal Autjority has concluded after transit that the vessel must be escorted by one or two tugs, the tugs fees shall be collected accordingly.

Vessels carrying radioactive substances
