Panama Canal locks lane outage and Transit Reservation System

According to the ACP’s Advisory to Shipping A-39-2015, locks lane outages at Pedro Miguel (west) and Gatun (east) locks are confirmed from midnight 26 December until noon on 30 December 2015 for repairs and maintenance.During this period, the Transit Reservation System will be in Condition 2 which means that for Supers, unless there are cancellations by previously booked vessels, there will be no slots in the third period opening. Inspection works at Eastern Harbour Crossing, Cha Kwo Ling

From 30 December 2015 for approximately one week, underwater CCTV inspection of the Eastern Harbour Crossing’s cathodic protection system will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates and the adjacent shoreline (WGS 84 Datum):According to Marine Department Notice No. 177 of 2015 dated 23 December 2015, the work will be carried out between 0800 and 1800 – excluding Sundays and Public Holidays – along the line joining the following co-ordinates:1) 22 deg. 17.902’N / 114 deg. 13.785’E

2) 22 deg. 17.881’N / 114 deg. 13.748’E

3) 22 deg. 17.916’N / 114 deg. 13.727’E

4) 22 deg. 17.923’N / 114 deg. 13.742’E

The works will involve diving operations from time to time using the abutting seawall as the base of operation.

One guard boat will provide assistance. The guard boat employed for the works will not stay in the works area outside the hours of work. The guard boat engaged in the works will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

With divers working in the area, vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear at slow speed.

Russia’s New Year and Orthodox Christmas holidays are as follows:1 – 6 January (New Year)7 January (Orthodox Christmas)

8 January (Public Holiday)

Normal operations resume after the weekend of 9 & 10 January on Monday 11.

These holidays do not affect oil products terminals mooring and loading schedules.

All banks, authorities and port administrations will be closed.

Houston reopens; Corpus Christi remains closed due to fog
