Capt. Antonio M. Padrón y Santiago’s visit at the Faculty of Nautical Studies of Barcelona

Capt. Antonio M. Padrón y Santiago, “IMO Maritime Ambassador” and Maritime Authority of Tenerife visited the Faculty of Nautical Studies of Barcelona (Polytechnical University of Catalonia), being welcomed by the Dean, Prof. Santiago Ordás Jimenez and the Maritime Lawyer, Prof. Jaime Rodrigo de Larrucea.

During the meeting, the Maritime Ambassador explained the functions of his office, as a defender of seafarers, trying to encourage young people to consider a career at sea or in the maritime sector in order to inspire a new generation of experts maritime and seafarers.

He also congratulated the Dean for the initiatives taken with regard to analyze and seek solutions in connection with the lack of positions where the Nautical students can perform their training period, offering his collaboration in order to work together in this area.
