HELMEPA – Lloyd’s Register Foundation Campaign: next stop, Chios

Exhibition (2)The “Educational Community and Public Awareness Campaign on the Marine Environment, Shipping and Sciences”, which is carried out by HELMEPA across 14 Greek towns and cities between 2014-2017 with the support of Lloyd’s Register Foundation* (the Foundation), moves on to the island of Chios. 

The Campaign’s activities in Chios will be carried out from 22 February to 8 March 2016 in cooperation with the “Maria Tsakos Foundation” – Center for Maritime Research and Tradition and are placed under the auspices of the Regional Authority of Chios – Northern Aegean.

The environmental Exhibition will be hosted during the said period at the “George Kaloutas” Exhibition Center where, in cooperation with the Directorates of Primary and Secondary Education of Chios, HELMEPA will transport 1, 200 pupils of local schools on the Campaign’s expenses.

The opening of the Exhibition will take place on Monday 22 February, at 12.00. It will remain open daily for schools from 09.00 to 13.00 and for the public until 15.00.Maritime Environment

Other environmental activities are also being scheduled in the framework of the Campaign, such as the ‘train-the-trainer’ Seminar for Teachers titled “The marine environment and us: ensuring a sustainable future” on Wednesday 2 March at the “Maria Tsakos” Foundation and a survey on the schoolchildren’s level of environmental awareness.
