CHANGE TO IMMIGRATION RESTRICTIONS FOR CREW CHANGES

Change to immigration restrictions for crew changes
Monday, February 29, 2016, Fujairah, UAE
Vessels coming from and going to ports in the following country’s port are now permitted to conduct crew changes through Port of Fujairah Immigration:

  • Iran
  • Iraq
  • Syria
  • Libya
  • Yemen
  • Djibouti
  • Algeria
  • Lebanon

This represents the lifting of the ban on crew changes for vessels with last and next port calls in these countries.

However, crew members from the above countries are not permitted to join or disembark through the Port of Fujairah Immigration.

Underwater inspection

From 2 to 19 March, underwater inspection works will be carried out off Tamah Merah and Changi East.According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.16 of 2016 dated 29 February 2016, the works will be conducted from 0700 to 1900 hours daily – including Sundays and Public Holiday – within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):Working Area A

2) 01 deg. 18.940’N / 103 deg. 58.183’E
3) 01 deg. 18.303’N / 103 deg. 58.422’E
4) 01 deg. 18.298’N / 103 deg. 57.678’EWorking Area B
5) 01 deg. 18.622’N / 104 deg. 00.392’E
6) 01 deg. 18.337’N / 104 deg. 00.712’E
7) 01 deg. 18.448’N / 104 deg. 00.916’E
8) 01 deg. 18.744’N / 104 deg. 00.591’E

The underwater inspection will be carried out by a remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) tethered to the survey boat. The ROV will be launched and recovered by the survey boat.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day signal.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 (East Control);
and
e) Communicate with East Control on VHF Channel 12 for assistance, if required.
