The BDI @349, for some, makes waves…

Despite the …“upwards” trend of the BDI  – which gained 22 points since last week’s 327, the situation is far worse for the Hoi Polloi and the bankruptcies as well as other means of getting out to save “face”, are looming in the background. John Faraclas writes:

It is a matter of when for the shipping industry to find itself in a total collapse.

The BCI 2014 has completely collapsed losing another two points, now standing at 164 which is minus 13 points since last week’s 177!

The Panamaxes gained 12 standing at 386 and overall gained another 34 points since last week’s 352!

The Supras and the respective BSI on a plus eight, clocking 371 were up 38 points from last week’s 333; a …“good” performance…

The Handies too had some gains, better than nothing now the BHSI stands at 232 (+five) and an overall of 20 plus points since last week’s 212.

In a nutshell:  It’s not just early days for the Dry Markets… its very bad days. One task for all: Trying to save whatever one can… Too late? Remember: we are 11, 398 points down from the Dry Markets high in 2008 (11, 747) and 1, 925 points down since the end of December 2013 when the BDI stood at 2, 274 points – you can read all our reports since these two particular dates and compare them with what the rest were priesting. The shipfinance market suffered its worse period and now that we experience the best moment of a buyer’s market, no money available – with rare exemptions …of course! Did I here you say delistings?

The Wets were also “strange”; the last published BDTI and BCTI stood at 715 (minus two points) and 519 (no change) respectively. Overall the Dirties lost 36 points from last week’s 751… and the Cleans remained surprise surprise at the same level since last Friday the 26th of February 519 points!

The Price of Oil reached US$ 36… and for sure we are going to see some surprises both for the short and long period. A very delicate point given the propulsion aspect cost correlating to speed and …consumption costs!

Geopolitics is shaping our shipping business world and beyond, so be on guard for many strange phenomena… The odd energy policies are a major factor…

Europe in disarray not only with Migrants,  but also with many nations’ internal problems; France, Germany Greece, Portugal, Spain, The United Kingdom, France to name but a few.

Turkey continues to be on purpose out of any context and time is of essence, as the Turks might find themselves in a very awkward situation… Their position is well known…

Russia’s agenda is well kept for the time being by Vladimir Putin…

The US Dems and Reps fight for the White House is becoming more than interesting… These US elections for sure will produce a surprise… but for the time being this “process” prolongs and even “promotes” uncertainty and produces more and more global catastrophes…

China now …reinvents economics and transport policies; very dangerous…

A BREXIT will shake the World Economy to its foundations and equally a GREXIT for very different reasons altogether. We might see soon some changes in both issues and regimes, but the bubble is about to burst with incalculable repercussions; take cover! Britain has the Commonwealth to look forward to another era of the Empire; Greece has its classic politics… and naturally Shipping, Tourism and the Industrialists, if left alone from the Lefty Looney morons, can thrive via the ATHEX (Athens Stock Exchange)  and unity of its people! Europe has become Greece’s biggest pester, a wild monster trying to cover up its sins!  Greece at the end of the day will not become the Brussels, Bankers et al Scapegoat… It is about time, as Spring approaches, for a Spring Cleaning… Too many skeletons in the cupboard Mrs. Merkel… Nemesis always strikes, never ever forget this! We are betting on these views…

The US Dems and Reps fight for the White House is becoming more than interesting…

Enjoy the weekend!
