Autonomous Underwater Vehicle testing

From 23 May to 26 June, Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) testing are being carried out south of Pulau Bukom Kechil.According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.59 of 2016, the testing are being conducted from 0900 to 1800 hours daily on weekdays, within the working areas bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Daum):Working Area 1
1) 01 deg. 13.378’N / 103 deg. 45.566’E
2) 01 deg. 13.378’N / 103 deg. 45.802’E
3) 01 deg. 13.266’N / 103 deg. 45.802’E
4) 01 deg. 13.266’N / 103 deg. 45.566’E

The experiments and collection of data will be carried out by an AUV within the working area.

An AUV will be launched from a work boat during the experiments. The AUV will be operated and monitored from the work boat.

A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity to warn other craft about the work.

Craft involved with the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (West Control); |
and
e) Communicate with West Control on VHF Channel 68 for assistance, if required.
