The conference directors expect 200+ attendees from 10 or more different countries at the annual SHIPPINGInsight forum, which will take place Oct. 18-19 at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa in Stamford, Conn.

The conference will be built around four themed sessions reflecting the most important technology issues and developments affecting the shipping industry.

Session B:            Connected Ships, Cybersecurity & Ship Automation

Session C:            Big Data/Smart Data & Shipping Intelligence

Session D:           Fuel & Propulsion

The agenda includes seven keynote speakers, eight panel discussions and five open-discussion roundtables, with a total of more than 50 expert speakers and 35 shipping company executives confirmed, plus 11 planned networking events.

New for 2016: Shipowners Roundtable

A new feature to be introduced at this year’s SHIPPINGInsight will be a shipowners roundtable. Senior executives from major international ship operating companies will share their perspective with conference delegates in an open-discussion Q&A-driven format.

Also new this year is an expanded SHIPPINGInsight TV channel on the website, presenting the latest industry and technology videos from conference sponsors.

“SHIPPINGInsight has grown over the past four years to become the one ‘not-to-be-missed’ maritime technology event in the North American maritime industry,” said SHIPPINGInsight co-director Jim Rhodes. “Our focus is on bringing together ship operators and technology partners in a setting that encourages formal and informal engagement and open exchange of ideas and solutions.”

SHIPPINGInsight co-director Frank Soccoli said that 38 industry sponsors have signed up so far for the 2016 event, and the exhibit hall is 75 percent sold out. “We still have a very limited number of sponsorships and booth spaces open, but they will fill up in the next few weeks.” To learn more about sponsorships and exhibits, contact, tel.+1.434.295.6642.
