Heavy rain and flooding causing disruption
Saturday, November 26, 2016, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia
Serious ongoing weather is causing disruption in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Severe rainfall yesterday (25 November) has resulted in localised flooding in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom, making driving conditions hazardous in some places. For now, ports report that they are continuing to operate ‘as normal’, but the situation is being followed closely and any updates will be given as soon as available. GAC Saudi Arabia staff are monitoring driving conditions and launch vessel operations, and will only proceed to operate in line with suitable and safe weather conditions. Drivers have been requested reduce speed when traveling to/from vessels and project worksites and to exercise caution throughout. The rain is forecast to continue until at least until tomorrow (Sunday 27 November).
