The Dropping Markets are becoming an issue of major concern and with Geopolitical flair-up things go sour; John Faraclas’ daily recap:

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) closed down ten points since yesterday at 1,186 thanks to the falling Capers and on the other hand the steady “fighters”, the Panamaxes who “managed to reduce a wider overall fall!

The BCI 2014 lost 70 points and now reads 2,067 – just 67 points away from the 2,000 level, beyond which things my go astray…

The BPI managed to gain another 22 points and now stands at 1,563 points – a ray of hope?  We shall see…

The Supras and Handies with minimal plus points; the respective BSI and the BHSI stood at 934 – up five, and  552 – up four. A tough market for both sizes.

The Wets produced mixed feelings; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 887 – minus two and 437 – plus three. Struggling?

The WTI was down at US$ 50.91, below the US$ 51 plus mark. That’s good news from the consumers, they need the WTI at least down to US$ 39,99 to make it through in all fronts – make an analysis and see why…

The Geopolitical front was once again worse than yesterday:

The MIGRANTS still on top of all issues and the aftermath of the fall down in Aleppo (Syria)  and Mosul (Iraq)  will increase the exodus from these warring countries and a new incalculable influx will shake our society in Europe yet again. Are we prepared for the spill over? This is a very serious question as things will go astray 101 centum!

Turkey, the way its acts will inflame the entire region, so it is about time the major powers act swiftly before the shit hits the fan… Turkey’s behaviour is unacceptable on all counts. We must stop in the West the hype about the importance of Turkey in the region’s stability; enough. The Turkish economy dives too and that’s bad news. Ordinary Turks and businessmen have become property investors in Greece and that tells you a lot…on how safe Turkey is…

In neighbouring Greece the current situation with the prolonged unsolved issues will bring down the current coalition government. This doesn’t mean that the opposition can do the trick, although this time they will try and do their best with respect negotiating on a hard-core basis with Germany and Brussels. One expects that Germany respects its current status as otherwise expect thorny issue to surface. Greeks have nothing to lose but to regain their dignity and fight back…

Italy remains a mystery and careful steps should be taken following the Referendum there. PM Renzi will have to deliver the new budget and then, all things being equal expect a messy period, as the 42nd Italian PM since the WWI has a colossal task to keep the country afloat, given the terrible sate its banking sector…

BREXIT is about to give the world more surprises; just wait and see. All eagerly await Mrs. May’s document – will she publish same triggering the proceeding of an exodus? There are a bit of complicating issues with respect any EXIT from the EU. The member-states citizens NOW demand, and have the right to know, how, if any other EU member state wishes after a Referendum to leave, what happens and for how long this limbo-state lasts… It is obvious that something is missing or… Can we contain the forthcoming mess in the European Union with the Banking sector in tatters?

Over now to the other side of the Atlantic were president-elect Donald Trump wishes to scarp the Airforce one Boing deal; meantime he continues to gear up for taking over the reign of Planet Ocean at a historical turning point on all fronts. Will he succeed or will be succeeded by somebody else? Time will tell given the Geopolitical chaos around… The big issue for Mr. Trump is a simple one: Can he make America great again? Wonder what’s next with China following his telconv with the Taiwanese president Tsai…

Renan Calheiros, the Brazilian Senate House leader defies the Supreme Court judge’s order; but for how long. Did he embezzled money, power?  Let’s see who laughs at the end of the day…

What an important day that was today: St. Nicholas’ Day! The Saint of the Seven Seas, the Saint for the Seafarers and Masters of the Oceans! The Greek fraternity in London celebrated same in traditional and religious style at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Shepherd’s Bush, west London Archbishop Gregorius officiated and afterwards a reception took place!

In the evening at the Loose Cannon / Steel Yard in Allhallows Lane of Father Thames, the Seahorse Club’s over 150 journalists and media from all over the world gathered for the Christmas Party and Journalists Awards 2016. A great night with many surprises as a few young people made it to the top!

As these lines are written we wonder what next for Dow Jones having an all-time high today at 19,251.78… There is an oxymoron though, given that the world economy is in a total mess, America is in red, yet DJ makes waves; we shall see…

That’s all for today, be on guard for every eventuality as terrorists would like to upset us given that they are losing their dreadful game! Remember: we must show ZERO TOLERANCE!
