The Dry Market, “thanks” to the Capers’ fall creates shocks and Geopolitical mess brings in total failure; John Faraclas daily briefing:

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) lost 24 points and now reads 1,162…

The Capers’ BCI 2014 lost 132 points – soon many will need …a triplex given the triple point fall bring this sector down to 1,935 points, the level we were predicting that it could reach falling below the 2,000 points threshold… ULTRA CAUTION should be observed…

The Panamaxes gained just two points with the BPI now standing at 1,565 points, its best for nearly a year, but losing steam too, given the double figure rise over the last fortnight… CAUTION

The Supras and Handies “retained” their minimal rise and today their respective indices, the BSI and BHSI gained seven and five points at 941 and 557 respectively.
Overall a falling Dry Market; end of the story.-

The Wets behaving strangely… The last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 863 –  down 24 and 439 – up two respectively…

The WTI fall bringing hope to the poor – it now stands at US$ 49.97… we shall see though by Friday closing business N. York what’s gone to happen…
The Box market is sending an SOS; more mergers, more falls, more anxiety and uncertainty – tough luck for many, though not yet a hard one…

The geopolitical front continues with the MIGRANTS as its top issue.

Then comes the Syrian saga and the expectations by president Assad of the imminent fall of Aleppo to his forces changing the luck of war there to his benefit; again: we shall see…

EUROPE in taters as France also has a problem as in four months’ time the presidential elections will once again shake Europe to its foundations.
Italy in limbo…

BREXIT will make waves tomorrow morning given Mrs. May’s announcements!

Greece still in trouble and GREXIT might come not just out of the blue but from within… PM Alexis Tsipras, despite the support from abroad can’t do it… Very simply: he cannot deliver, nor he opposition. Let’s have the ARISTOS’ government and end with it, end with uncertainty…and misery there…

President-elect Trump appoints his new Ambassador for China!

A great day today in London with informa’s day one of the 19th Salvage & Wreck Removal annual conference. More than interesting issues in all three stream rooms; law and insurance, tug & towage and chemical & oil spill response. Basically we attended the law & insurance stream moderated by Andrew Chamberlain from HFW LLP, but were lucky at the end to hear a recap from the other  two. Excellent; will revert with a full report. Good to see so many friends and supporters present either as speakers, panellists or delegates. A mini exhibition area with about ten stands complemented the event; among those exhibiting were Castalia, TGS,  Sapri Veolia and Antipollution, CWaves, and Framo.

Have a nice evening and be on guard for every eventuality…
