oslo bors27/01/2017 – Thanks to new exchange traded products, you can now trade European sector indices on Oslo Børs. The range of exchange traded products available is now wider than ever before.

New exchange traded securities that provide exposure to European shares in the banking, healthcare, telecoms, oil and materials sectors are being listed today. The new securities are ETNs (Exchange Traded Notes), which are as easy to trade as shares.

Since last year investors have been able to trade ETNs that track the Seafood Index (OBSFX) and the Shipping Index (OBSHX), which are two important sectors on Oslo Børs, in addition to the OBX Index. ETNs have also been listed that provide exposure to foreign share indices, such as the S&P 500, the DAX 30 and the EURO STOXX 50.

The sector indices that are being listed today track the STOXX Europe 600 indices. A choice of bull and bear products offers the opportunity to take a position on either rising or falling markets, and the STOXX Europe 600 products that are being listed today offer gearing of three or five times the daily return of the index. Gearing means more risk, and such products are therefore best suited to experienced investors who have a clear view on where they expect the market to go.

The range of exchange traded products available is wider than ever before. There arenow 266 ETNs available with individual shares, commodities or indices as their underlying assets, bull and bear variants and varying levels of gearing.
