Capt. Antonio M. Padrón meets Senegal’s ambassador in Spain

Capt. Antonio M. Padrón y Santiago, “IMO Maritime Ambassador” and Maritime Authority of Tenerife held a meeting with the Hon. Mr. Mamadou Sow, Ambassador of Senegal in Spain

During the meeting, Capt. Antonio M. Padrón explained his functions as “IMO Maritime Ambassador” as well as the cooperation projects in which he is participating, highlighting the collaboration with the KOREA MARITIME INSTITUTE and CEIMARPE (Branch of KMI in Spain), which consists of the donation of a Training Ship to be used by the Cadets of the “Ecole Nationale de Formation Maritime” (ENFM) of Senegal.

Also during the meeting, was commented the Spanish experience during the crisis of the irregular immigration by sea (2006-2007), which meant the rescue by SASEMAR of more than 25,000 people only in Tenerife.
