Lane outages for maintenance work

The Panama Canal has confirmed that there will be eight-hour lane outages in Gatun Locks West tomorrow (13 July) and Friday 14 July, due to scheduled maintenance work. These outages will not result in any condition change in the Transit Reservation System.

Marine site investigation off Pak Kok Pier, Lamma Island

For approximately 2 months, marine site investigation works involving drilling of boreholes will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (E) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 14.195’N / 114 deg. 06.595’E
(B) 22 deg. 14.192’N / 114 deg. 06.576’E
(C) 22 deg. 14.209’N / 114 deg. 06.561’E
(D) 22 deg. 14.234’N / 114 deg. 06.600’E
(E) 22 deg. 14.201’N / 114 deg. 06.627’EThe works will be carried out by one flat top barge. One tugboat will provide assistance.

A working area of approximately 20 metres around the barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barge.

The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works area outside the hours of work.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

For approximately 13 months, marine works involving dredging operations, immersed tunnel unit installation and backfilling operations will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (R):

(R) 22 deg. 17.185’N / 114 deg. 11.003’EThe works will be carried out by a flotilla of vessels including one dredger, four dumb lighters, three hopper barges, one flat top barge and two special purpose vessels, two tugboats, one work boat and two guard boats. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

A working area of approximately 30 metres around each dredger, lighter and barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the dredger, lighters and barges.

The hours of work will be from 0700 to 2300 hours. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works area outside the hours of work.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

Naval Forces Sailing Cup

Traffic in the Bosphorus will be suspended from 11:00 to 16:00 hours local time on Friday (14 July), due to the Naval Forces Sailing Cup.
