Yacht Race from Hong Kong to Vietnam
Thursday, October 12, 2017, Hong Kong
Yacht races from Hong Kong to Vietnam will take place on 17 October 2017 (Tuesday) and 18 October 2017(Wednesday) respectively. About 12 yachts are expected to participate in the races.

The races will commence on 17 October 2017 at 1215 hours with 3 yachts and 18 October 2017 at 1315 hours with 9 yachts at a place off the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter. It will follow an easterly route through the harbour, Tathong Channel and Waglan Island, thence to Vietnam.

Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity of the race route should proceed with caution, giving practical consideration to the contestants. Compliance with the provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 is mandatory.

Force Majeure declared at terminals

As a result of damage caused by extreme weather conditions, operations [at Transnet Port Terminals (TPT), Richards Bay] have been impacted. These unforeseen incidents are beyond the control of TPT and TPT has no option but to invoke the provisions of the force majeure clauses in TPT’s commercial agreements and Standard Trading Terms and Conditions.

Any claims arising herefrom will therefore be dealt with as such in terms of the applicable contractual agreements and Standard Trading Terms and Conditions.
