The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) lost another 31 points earlier on today “thanks” primarily to the Capers’ three-digit fall… Geopolitics as usual in a mess; John Faraclas’ daily recap:

The beginning of the pre-Christmas week was marred by yet another Dry fall with the Capers leading the way losing 121 points bringing the BCI down to 3,656 points. Is that volatility or correction? In our view it is simply a market losing steam! Don’t get carried away by the bubble of the Stock Markets; the real markets are the shipping ones, end of the story!

The Panamaxes also lost, a sort of a contained loss with the BPI down 34 at 1,643 points.

Both Supras and Handies gained just one points and the BSI and BHSI now standing at 943 and 637 points respectively…

We have warned you that things might turn sour, and they do…

The Wets managed to gain a few points; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 815 – plus one and 707 – plus five respectively…

The WTI as these lines ae being written stands at US$ 57.40 – still unfavourable for the poo masses worldwide… CAUTION!

The Geopolitical front as mentioned in our preamble gets worse and expect anytime chaos to govern on all fronts…

The MIGRANTS remain, unfortunately, the top issue for a multiple of reasons and ways all over Planet Ocean. Politicians and diplomats including MEP’s cannot come to an agreed solution – wonder what on earth NATO thinks of the influx of MIGRANTS I Europe including as we fear and understand Islamist Terrorists returning “home”… They are all at loggerheads succumbing to silly politics, racism, betrayal and blackmail. We have seen lately a few hundred being brought to the Greek mainland from the overcrowded Greece’s Eastern Aegean Islands of Lesvos and Chios. Can Turkey honour its EU agreements and obligations on the issue… Meantime it  is worrying to see Turkish migrants landing on Greek islands to avoid persecution from Erdogan’s regime…

The aftermath of the Wars against the ISIS lot in Syria and Iraq is “on hold” and we all await to see an announcement to see where we stand… Still we have a dozen or so functions on the ground and in particular the Kurds awaiting their case to be justified. In the meantime the UN resolution to cut short the recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel was vetoed by the USA. This might ignite more trouble in the region and it will lead to incalculable and despicable situations affecting us all… CAUTION!

Turkey continues a course which will derail Peace in the region and Erdogan must come down to his senses as well as his backers before the situation goes off hand. Hypocrisy is one thing, betrayal yet another.

Greece remains in its own dire straits – not to mention the EU’s strangulation of the Greek people.

BREXIT continues and it remains to be seen, not just who wins at the end of the day, but how and why…

More news later on before midnight; in the meantime have a nice evening and be on guard from any eventuality deriving from Pirates and Terrorists  wherever you are on Planet Ocean.-
