The BDI ended up… down at 1,164 points – minus 57 due to the unprecedented but expected from this medium Capers volatility and fall… Geopolitics continue to deteriorate in all fronts. John Faraclas brief market report:

The Capers following yesterday’s loss of 221 points today same increased to minus 267 points and now the BCI reads 1,743 points… You can interpret this in any way it …fits you…

The Panamaxes lost a modest 12 points and the BPI now stands at 1,317 points…

The Supras’ BSI remained as per yesterday’s closure at 910 points…

The Handies’ BHSI lost two points and now reads 581 points…

The Wets with mixed feelings – as always… The BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 717 – plus 24 points and 569 – minus 14 points respectively.

At US$ 63.90 was the latest of the WTI… Our view is well known and CAUTION should be observed; the 90 centum of the Planet Ocean’s population CANNOT afford a nickel above the US$50; end of the story! Repercussions could become a boomerang!

The Geopolitical front remains blurred and things can go further worse. We reiterate the view that new hostilities will erupt to Wars. We advise restrain as at least one billion people will be directly affected and another six/seven indirectly with incalculable repercussions!

On another tone and note the annual classic Lloyd’s Register Vassilopitta cutting event took place in the magnificent Lloyd’s Register monument-building in the heart of the Square Mile with over 200 guests attending in a mutual respect to each other and the hosts; Greeks and British together in a jovial atmosphere. Having attended this event for nearly three decades I can assure you of its importance– see respective reporting later on…

The Beginning of the Year Party by KVH – Videotel at the spacious Radisson Blue Edwardian Kenilworth hotel was more vibrant than ever before being also the first time this annual event took place outside the company’s premises of Newman Street. Excellent dips – even exotic ones, mostly sea-wise and drinks and a great atmosphere – see respective article herein.

The London events, like those in Greece are surpassing all other events worldwide during the Festive Season from the 1st of December until the end of January sending another positive message for the markets and all stakeholders with networking at its best. Piraeus and London will continue to call the shots in the shipping industry for the foreseeable future!

Have a nice evening and continue to be on guard from any eventuality emanating from Pirates and Terrorists wherever you are on Planet Ocean!
