Greece’s minister for digital policy, telecommunications and media Nikos Pappas meets with officials of the Sciotish Government

The Minister of Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media, Mr. Nikos Pappas, met with officials of the Scottish Government yesterday, on the second day of his visit to the United Kingdom.

In particular, Mr. Pappas met with the First Minister of Scotland, Mrs. Nicola Sturgeon, and with Scotland’s Secretary for Finance and Constitution, Mr. Derek Mackay. During the meetings, the Greek officials presented the digitization of the Greek public sector and, in particular, the implementation of the Digital Document Handling and Digital Signature. This is already being implemented in the Ministry of Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media, it is expected to save €700,000 only this year and will be extended to the entire Public Sector in the coming months.

Nikos Pappas, Lefteris Kretsos and  Giorgos Christoforidis, during their visit to the incubator for the development of digital applications in the public sector, CivTech.

The Scottish Secretary for Finance and Constitution, Derek Mackay, placed particular emphasis on the incubator for the development of digital public sector applications CivTech, an innovative project funded by the Scottish Government to deliver cost effective and efficient solutions to public administration issues, in cooperation with startup businesses.

Furthermore, the Greek Minister of Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media,  Nikos Pappas, visited CivTech’s premises and had the opportunity to meet with representatives of the startups and to be informed about the projects they are implementing.

During his visit to the United Kingdom,  Nikos Pappas is accompanied by the Secretary General for Media and Communication, Lefteris Kretsos, and the Special Adviser to the Minister, Giorgos Christoforidis.
