Thursday, February 8, 2018, China

A new Yellow Fever quarantine requirement is being enforced for individuals, vessels and cargo entering China from certain countries as announced by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) website Announcement No. 11/2018.

The affected countries and areas include Nigeria, Peru and Brazil (except for the states of Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraiba, Pernambuco, Alagoas and Sergipe).

All travelers from the above stated countries/areas must produce a valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate to AQSIQ officials prior to entering China. Those who do not this certificate, shall be observed for six days from date of departure from the mentioned countries/areas.

All aircraft, vessels, cargo and containers from the above stated countries and areas are also required to have effective vector control measures. Containers, used items and cargo found with infected pests/insects, or aircraft and vessels without proof of valid vector control, are required to implement vector control measures. Prior to completing such measures, vessels should maintain a distance of at least 400 metres from the nearest land or nearby vessels.

These measures are valid for three months from 19 January 2018.
