State of emergency lifted as tensions subside
Monday, March 19, 2018, Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka’s President Maithripala Sirisena has ordered the lifting of the state of emergency that had been declared to control riots in which three people died and nearly 500 shops and homes were destroyed.

This move was prompted by an improvement in the security situation.

Transit delays
Monday, March 19, 2018, Kiel Canal, Germany

Ships waiting to transit the Kiel Canal are currently experiencing delays of up to 10 hours at Kiel-Holtenau and up to 6 hours at Brunsbuttel.
