For approximately 4 months, marine site investigation involving drilling of boreholes will be carried out [in areas to the north of Urmston Road Fairway and north of Castle Peak Fairway] within the following works areas:

WORKS AREA 1:
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D):
(A) 22 deg. 22.422’N / 113 deg. 54.897’E
(B) 22 deg. 22.346’N / 113 deg. 54.899’E
(C) 22 deg. 22.342’N / 113 deg. 54.763’E
(D) 22 deg. 22.419’N / 113 deg. 54.761’E

WORKS AREA 2:
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (E) to (H):
(E) 22 deg. 22.167’N / 113 deg. 55.186’E
(F) 22 deg. 21.891’N / 113 deg. 55.389’E
(G) 22 deg. 21.854’N / 113 deg. 55.331’E
(H) 22 deg. 22.129’N / 113 deg. 55.128’E

WORKS AREA 3:
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (I) to (L):

This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (M) to (P):

(O) 22 deg. 20.820’N / 113 deg. 58.649’E
(P) 22 deg. 20.883’N / 113 deg. 58.646’E

WORKS AREA 5:
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (Q) to (T):
(Q) 22 deg. 20.895’N / 114 deg. 00.104’E
(R) 22 deg. 20.894’N / 114 deg. 00.249’E
(S) 22 deg. 20.829’N / 114 deg. 00.248’E
(T) 22 deg. 20.830’N / 114 deg. 00.102’E

The works will be carried out by one derrick barge. One tugboat will provide assistance.

A working area of approximately 100 metres will be established around the barge. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights and radar reflectors will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barge.

The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1800 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will not stay in the works areas outside the hours of work.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

Testing of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle off Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal
Thursday, March 29, 2018, Singapore

From 4 to 6 April, testing of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) will be carried out west of Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.031 of 2018, the testing will be carried out between 0800 and 1800 hours daily within a working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 18.480’N / 103 deg. 58.103’E
2) 01 deg. 18.566’N / 103 deg. 58.470’E
3) 01 deg. 18.400’N / 103 deg. 58.518’E
4) 01 deg. 18.313’N / 103 deg. 58.150’E

The works will involve a work boat and safety boat, both of which will exhibit appropriate local and international day signals.

The work boat will deploy and recover the AUV by crane. The safety boat will be in attendance at all times to warn and re-direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of the working area.

When in the vicinity of the working are, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area
b) Maintain a proper lookout
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 (East Control)
and
e) Communicate with East Control on VHF Channel 12 for assistance, if required.

Traffic suspended due to fog

The transit of tankers over 150m in length and vessels carrying dangerous goods through the Bosphorus was suspended at 12:50 hours local time today (29 March), due to the poor visibility (dense fog).
