Marine site investigation at Yung Shue Ferry Pier
Monday, April 16, 2018, Hong Kong

For approximately one month, marine site investigation works involving drilling of boreholes will be carried out in the following areas:

AREA 1
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent ferry pier:
(A) 22 deg. 13.588’N / 114 deg. 06.545’E
(B) 22 deg. 13.578’N / 114 deg. 06.550’E
(C) 22 deg. 13.573’N / 114 deg. 06.540’E
(D) 22 deg. 13.577’N / 114 deg. 06.537’E

AREA 2
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (E) to (H) and the adjacent ferry pier:
(E) 22 deg. 13.597’N / 114 deg. 06.551’E
(F) 22 deg. 13.607’N / 114 deg. 06.546’E
(G) 22 deg. 13.613’N / 114 deg. 06.556’E
(H) 22 deg. 13.603’N / 114 deg. 06.561’E

The works will be carried out by one jack-up platform. Yellow flashing lights will be installed at the four corners of the jack-up platform to indicate its position. One tugboat will provide assistance.

The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works areas outside the hours of works.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

Marine site investigation at Middle Island
Monday, April 16, 2018, Hong Kong

For approximately one month, marine site investigation works involving drilling of boreholes will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (E) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 14.155’N / 114 deg. 11.083’E
(B) 22 deg. 14.176’N / 114 deg. 11.083’E
(C) 22 deg. 14.176’N / 114 deg. 11.131’E
(D) 22 deg. 14.163’N / 114 deg. 11.163’E
(E) 22 deg. 14.134’N / 114 deg. 11.162’E
The works will be carried out by one flat top barge and one jack-up platform. One tugboat will provide assistance.

A working area of approximately 30 metres around the flat top barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barge. Yellow flashing lights will be installed at the four corners of the jack-up platform to indicate its position.

The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works areas outside the hours of works.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Dredging at Kwai Tsing Container Terminal 8 West
Monday, April 16, 2018, Hong Kong

For approximately one month, dredging operations will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (E), and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 19.433’N / 114 deg. 07.357’E
(B) 22 deg. 19.424’N / 114 deg. 07.327’E
(C) 22 deg. 19.475’N / 114 deg. 07.309’E
(D) 22 deg. 19.613’N / 114 deg. 07.776’E
(E) 22 deg. 19.561’N / 114 deg. 07.794’E

The works will be carried out by a grab dredger. Two tug boats and three split hopper barges will assistance in the works. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

A working area of approximately 50 metres around the grab dredger will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the grab dredger.

The hours of work will be round-the-clock.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

Trimming of underwater high spots

For approximately 3 months, trimming operations for underwater high spots [south of Shek Kwu Chau] will be carried out in the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (F):
(A) 22 deg. 09.489’N / 113 deg. 59.172’E
(B) 22 deg. 09.489’N / 113 deg. 59.521’E
(C) 22 deg. 09.272’N / 113 deg. 59.521’E
(D) 22 deg. 09.272’N / 113 deg. 59.056’E
(E) 22 deg. 09.380’N / 113 deg. 59.056’E
(F) 22 deg. 09.380’N / 113 deg. 59.172’E
The works will be carried out by one crane barge. One hopper barge, one work boat and two tugboats will provide assistance. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

A working area of approximately 50 metres will be established around the crane barge and hopper barge. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the crane barge and hopper barge.

The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works areas outside the hours of works.

Silt curtains will be established within the works area. A silt curtain is a large piece of netting used to contain mud and sediments.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution, bearing in mind the changing depths in the works area.

For approximately 4 months, marine site investigation works involving drilling of boreholes will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (C) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 19.120’N / 114 deg. 11.902’E
(B) 22 deg. 19.027’N / 114 deg. 11.733’E
(C) 22 deg. 19.068’N / 114 deg. 11.640’E
The works will be carried out by one flat top barge and jack-up platform. One tugboat will provide assistance.

A working area of approximately 50 metres around the flat tope barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barge. Yellow flashing lights will be installed at the four corners of the jack-up platform to indicate its position.

The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works areas outside the hours of works.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
