Dredging operations in Tuen Mun River Channel

For approximately 8 months, dredging operations will be carried out in the Tuen Mun River Channel within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (B), and from (C) to (D) and the adjacent shorelines:
(A) 22 deg. 23.023’N / 113 deg. 58.031’E
(B) 22 deg. 23.008’N / 113 deg. 58.083’E
(C) 22 deg. 22.716’N / 113 deg. 58.170’E
(D) 22 deg. 22.687’N / 113 deg. 58.101’E

The works will be carried out by a flotilla of vessels including two bucket pontoons, one backhoe pontoon, one derrick lighter and one split hopper barge. One tug boat and one work boat will provide assistance. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

The dredged materials will be conveyed to a split hopper barge anchored within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (E) to (H):

(F) 22 deg. 22.499’N / 113 deg. 58.339’E
(G) 22 deg. 22.483’N / 113 deg. 58.301’E
(H) 22 deg. 22.517’N / 113 deg. 58.283’E

Transhipment of dredged materials will take place in this area. A bucket pontoon assisted by a tug will deliver the dredged materials to the split hopper barge from time to time.

A working area of approximately 15 metres will be established around each backhoe pontoon and the derrick lighter. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from these vessels.

The hours of work will be from 0800 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works areas and the transshipment area outside the hours of works.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

Mooring & unmooring of vessels at Tuas Finger One Project Area

The working period for the Tuas Finger One Project Area has been extended. The works are a now being carried out from 18 April through to 17 October 2018.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.039 of 2018 sated 16 April 2018, during this period the locations of the mooring buoys are as follows (WGS 84 Datum):

The mooring and unmooring of vessels will be carried out one at a time during daylight hours between 0700hrs to 1800hrs.

During the work period, bulk carriers, self-propelled barges and pusher tugs with barges in composite unit carrying bulk sand will be transiting the Temasek Fairway to the Tuas Finger One reclamation project area. All vessels shall maintain a proper lookout; proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution when in the vicinity of the mooring buoys off the eastern part of Tuas View Extension.

Reclamation work at Tuas View, off Temasek Fairway

The working period for reclamation work at Tuas View has been extended. According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.038 of 2018, the work is now being carried out 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – from 18 April to 17 October, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

2) 01 deg. 16.297’N / 103 deg. 38.709’E
3) 01 deg. 15.543’N / 103 deg. 38.709’E
4) 01 deg. 15.543’N / 103 deg. 37.648’E
5) 01 deg. 15.608’N / 103 deg. 37.648’E
6) 01 deg. 15.608’N / 103 deg. 37.217’E
7) 01 deg. 15.651’N / 103 deg. 37.217’E
8) 01 deg. 15.651’N / 103 deg. 37.276’E
9) 01 deg. 15.651’N / 103 deg. 38.601’E

The reclamation work involves the caisson installation, rock mound works, removal of existing stone shore protection, dredging and underwater blasting at basin and sand key trench. Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

Craft involved in the work will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.
