The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) continued its fall. Today 20 points were lost as the volatility of the Capers …pays-off. Geopolitics still dangerous and enigmatic. John Faraclas daily recap:

The Capers BCI lost 78 points earlier on today and now reads 2,173 points…

The Panamaxes’ BPI clinched just one point, hooray hooray and the BPI stands at 1,276..

Thee points plus for the Supras’ BSI now standing at 1,045 points…

Minus two points for the Handies’ BHSI now reading 603 points and about to go under the 600-point threshold…

So, not a nice picture; be prepared for everything; the oceans after all are yours…

Not so much difference with the Wets; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 655 plus seven and 571 – same as yesterday…

The WTI stands right now at US$ 68.02… there are rumours of the barrel going to US$ 300 – let’s see the US$ 100 first and what this brings… Mess Mess Mess

A brief note on Geopolitics:

The Migrants issue remains still on top as the most import issue… Expect more crucial news out of this issue…

The Syrian and Iraqi saga continues; let’s see how many more will die until the politicians and diplomats “find”  a solution, not just any Peace deal… Syria lives in an inferno… Iraq will soon follow…

Israel complaints on the rising Iranian nuclear threat… CAUTION…

Turkey’s  despicable behaviour continues in all fronts… ADD soon the forthcoming elections and see what you get…

Greece next door still with too many internal and external issues…

The Balkans ready to explode yet again…

BREXIT continues… A few hiccups ad Sajid Javid  takes over from Ms Amber Rudd who resigned over the weekend… No more Windrush cases please… Let’s see what’s next now!!

President Trump keen to meet his North Korean counterpart; eagerly awaiting this meeting’s outcome…

More news tomorrow MAYDAY!

Political-Economic-Defence-Foreign Policy networking at its best

On another tone and note now; on the occasion of the visit to London of the Chair and Members of the Foreign and Defence Affairs Committee of the Hellenic Parliament an early evening reception took place at the Greek Ambassador’s residence in London. H.E. Dimitris Caramitsos-Tziras and other diplomats from the Geek Embassy as well as Attaches from the various sectors – Defence, Commerce, the Military mingled with the guests as well as bankers, financiers, businessmen, media representatives and had great discussions on the issues the chair and his members represent. The representation consisted of MP Konstantine Douzinas from the ruling coalition SYRIZA/ANEl, MP George Koumoutsakos from the opposition Nea Demokratia and MP Fotini Vaki from the SYRIZA/ANEL coalition government. I had interesting discussions with Mr Koumoutsakos and the very eloquent MP for Corfu Ms. Vaki who is also the president of the governmental join Friendship Committee of Greece and the United Kingdom.

Have a nice evening and be on guard for an eventuality emanating from Pirates and terrorist looming in the background wherever you are on Planet Ocean!
