Canoe and surf ski race
Thursday, May 3, 2018, Hong Kong

A canoe and surf ski race will take place on 5 May 2018 (Saturday). About 50 to 60 canoes and surf skis with 3 guard boats are expected to participate in the race.

Depending on the weather condition, the race will take place along one of the racing routes as follows:

ROUTE 1
The race will start at 1020 hours off Clearwater Bay and finish off Shek O Back Beach by 1400 hours, via Steep Island, Ninepin Group and Tung Lung Chau, if winds are Easterly, East-Southeasterly or Southeasterly.

ROUTE 2
The race will start at 0900 hours off Deepwater Bay and finish off Shek O Back Beach by 1400 hours, via Middle Island, Beaufort Island and Fury Rock, if winds are Southwesterly, Southerly or South-Southeasterly.

Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity of the racing route should proceed with caution, giving practical consideration to the contestants. Compliance with the provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 is mandatory.

Docking/undocking halted

Dammam Port Marine navigations/operations suspended vessel movement for docking/undocking due to strong wind for safety reasons this afternoon (3 May).

Dense fog and poor visibility
Thursday, May 3, 2018, Bosphorus, Turkey

Due to dense fog and poor visibility in the Bosphorus, vessel traffic movements were suspended for tankers 150 metres and more in length as well as dangerous goods carriers, 12:10 hours local time today (3 May).
