The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) gained 33 points earlier on today and now stands at 1,465 points… The Geopolitics lost the momentum and we warn you of sudden developments; John Faraclas’ brief mid-week recap:

The Capes continued to “advance” in a very strange way; today the BCI gained another triple-digit -134 points, and now stands at 2,616. CAUTION as this is too good to be true…

The Panamaxes’ BPI was down four points at 1,253 and this low performance is questionable…

The Supras fell a bit with the BSI now at 1,048 points – minus three…

The Handies’ BHSI remained the same as per yesterday’s closing at 585 points…

So all in all a dead market and many wonder what’s going on, it can’t be that only the Capes rise… others believe that there might be a set up… The rates are fine but the indices fall except the BCI…

The Wets with mixed feelings; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 655 – plus five and 540 – minus five points respectively…

The WTI is now very dangerously on the rise ending the day just before midnight BST at US$ 71.13 – that’s US 21.14 above the level that can be sustainable for the 90 centum of Planet Ocean’s masses whose sufferings increase…

The Geopolitical situation is marred with the latest decision of president Trump to get out from the so called Iran deal…Don’t forget that we are at War and this is not just a statement, this is the harsh reality… Destabilisation has already begun in the entire Middle East region and will extend west to Gib, west to Afghanistan, north to Caucuses and south down to the Horn of Africa… The collateral damage will be unimaginable. We are not exaggerating, we are real!

All other issues which we report and refer to everyday remain more or less the same: MIGRANTS, The Wars in Syria and Iraq,  are creating more misery, more deaths and soon despicable things will happen… And it is not just the WAR there, see what happens in Saudi Arabia with Riyadh coming under attack again with missiles… Turkey continues to stir up all of its neighbours in a very premeditated way… Let’s see the election result… A virtually bankrupt nation spending millions every month in violating Greece’s and Europe’s airspace and territorial waters. At the same time the EU stays put with only verbalistic comments… Shame… Greece, unless its politicians get their act together, will produce more mess.. CAUTION… Brexit continues… One thing we must avoid: if hostilities begin we must protect the dire straits of Suez, at least.. otherwise more chaotic events will take place…

Dozens of invitation arrive for Posidonia 2018; ensure you book your flight as it will be too difficult… And expensive…

On another tone and note the Prince of Wales and his wife Camilla continue their official visit in Greece, a very useful one for both nations. We will revert with a report on this…

Sadly the HESBG (Hellenic Engineers Society of Great Britain) announced that one of its founding members  Vassilis Koukoulis begun his sail to eternity. Vassilis was technical manager for Time and Tide Shipping; he retired about 6-7 years ago… Blessed!

Have a nice evening / good morning – depending where you are and be more than alerted / on guard with all issues around you particularly with Pirates, Terrorists and all sort of dangerous people and situations wherever you are on Planet Ocean…
