The BDI fell 98 points earlier on today as the Capes collapse… Overall, since last Monday, the BDI lost 171 points; CAUTION! Geopolitics are becoming more than crucial… with imminent deteriorating situations all over Planet Ocean; John Faraclas brief recap:

The Capes lost 301 (three hundred and one) points since yesterday with the BCI now standing at 2,106 points; volatility at its best!

The Panamaxes changed mood and wee on an upwards mode… Plus two points for the BPI now at 1,239 points..

The Handies’ BSI gained eight points and now reads 1,064…

Plus two points for the Handies BHSI – now at 589 points.

Once again mixed feelings for the Wets; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 681 – plus 14 points and 529 – minus eight respectively.

Did i hear you say Containerships? They dive… bad days for the boxes… Watch this space…

The WTI still high trying to maintain the US$ 71.50 level… A very enigmatic  and perplexed situation and if the rumours say that same will go over and above the US$ 80 mark, then that’s …NOT encouraging at all for the wold economy and in particular the poor masses but also for all consumers…

The Geopolitics are getting more complicated in its entirety…

The MIGRANTS maintain by far the top position as the most important from all news put together… Expect a spill over with hostilities in the entire Middle East with consequences in the Balkans, Northern Africa and in general, as we have marked it before, from Gibraltar to Afghanistan and from the Caucuses to the Horn of Africa…

The Wars in Syria and Iraq in combination with the proxy wars is creating more chaos… Israel will not back-off and will retaliate in case Iran proceeds further!

Turkey totally in disarray and wonder we have a capable UN Secretary-General to reprimand Erdogan’s Turks… The UN Security Council MUST intervene before it is too late…

Greece next door continues to …pester its people as its bankrupt “lenders” headed by Mrs. Merkel’s bankrupt Germans and her Brussels cronies are pressing PM Tsipras to finish-off the Greeks… with despicable taxation, loose security / freedom to the anarchists destroying Athens – ask Athens’ mayor George Kaminis and he will be more than pleased to confirm what we say… add a non-conforming with the circumstances foreign policy, despite being a Greek himself… he is unable to respond to the “provocations” / challenges so to speak of our times, of Greece’s times…You dead well know what I mean… SHAME! On top of this, Greece doesn’t have a prospective opposition to take over and do even a slight streamlining of the situation… Isn’t time we opt for the ARISTOS  team we have proposed  many times to run Greece until the country is being resurrected ?

Now add the fact that …nearby stands Europe and in particular the European Union of 28 nations whose national debt as of the end of 2017 stands approximately at 16 (sixteen) trillion Euros… Italy, France, Germany, the United Kingdom each have over Two Trillions ….The “issue” was, is and unfortunately continues to be Greece – the scapegoat… with Euros  313.52 billion. SHAME to all! A bankrupt union hence the USA doesn’t care a damn on how it tackles other World Affairs, even binding ones, say like Iran, where president Trump does his own thing… Watch-out the Euro vs. USDollar game… It even went under 1,18…. reading 1,17 something is weired, isn’t…?

BREXIT as we numerous times have referred to is still with too many twists and turns and we eagerly await to see not just the end result, but happens next… We must see Britain thinking big after Brexit, more competitive and I am sure Brits will thrive! Another Royal Wedding this Saturday with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle; not to be missed even from television!

The North Koreans are playing games and hope Uncle Sam doesn’t get …”upset”; let’s hope the Singapore meeting goes ahead…

In the USA we have now the first female head for CIA; Gina Haspel makes history!

In South America we hear that in Venezuela political prisoners at the El Helicoide uprising will teach the world another lesson… Time is running against you Mr. Maduro…

Argentina needs help or expect another mess …

Ebola is back and it has been reported that 44 people might have been infected and 23 deaths are being investigated in DR Congo’s city of Mbandaka… CAUTION…

Russia, China and Japan are closely watching, for their own vested interests, the geopolitical enfolding situation…

An important issue which we wish to stress is the plastic and how same not only pollutes, but destroys the environment and in particular the Seven Seas…!!! Time please and let’s get read also of the …plastic money… what about this panacea which has led the world in totally bankruptcy and a unprecedented credit crunch… How do we tackle the issue of plastic waste as we have dump about 5 billion tonnes of plastic in the environment since the fifties…

More news tomorrow with the closing of the week and the run down to Posidonia 2018!

Lastly on the GDPR where everybody begins to …wake up and send the “famous” email for conformity… we must all respond to avoid issues later on!

Simply despicable

On another note we are advised that in Spetses Island, the Sotirios Anargyros Mansion is about to fall… did I hear you say dilapidations… have a look at the picture on the left and then tell me… It needs money here and now to be totally rebuilt; and it will be an honour in the memory of this world know and re-known benefactor who paid his tribute to his motherland in beginning his charitable work with education, prompted by Greece top politician of that time Eleftherios Venizelos, whose legacy lives until today and will continue for the foreseeable future… As a result and with the contribution of another benefactor, the Cephalonian Marinos Corgiallenios, AKSS begun its history in 1927 becoming the temple of Greek secondary education… Now that we will meet over the long weekend 26,27 and 28 May for Anargyros’ annual memorial let’s organise an agenda and immy work same out for quick action; all together the Alumnus we can do it!

Another sad note; Theodore Vassilakis founder of Aegean Airlines  and other successful businesses passed away in Athens at the age of 78… Blessed!

Have a nice evening and be on guard from any eventuality emanating from Pirates, Terrorists and criminals of any kind wherever you are on Planet Ocean!
