Transport of sand material
Thursday, June 21, 2018, Singapore

The working period for the transport of sand material to the stockpile area at Tuas View Extension has been extended and the working area revised.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.065 of 2018, the transport will now be conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – from 26 June to 25 December, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1. 01 deg. 13.296’N / 103 deg. 37.359’E
2. 01 deg. 13.296’N / 103 deg. 37.902’E
3. 01 deg. 13.296’N / 103 deg. 37.476’E
4. 01 deg. 12.809’N / 103 deg. 38.717’E
5. 01 deg. 12.673’N / 103 deg. 38.522’E
6. 01 deg. 12.973’N / 103 deg. 37.359’E
Xinsha-1. 01 deg. 13.296’N / 103 deg. 38.476’E
Xinsha-2. 01 deg. 13.296’N / 103 deg. 37.902’E

The work involves transporting and dumping of sand materials by self-discharge sand carrier and trailer suction hopper barges to the stockpile area. A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn other vessels of the work.

When in the vicinity, mariners are reminded to:
a) keep well clear of the working area
b) maintain a proper lookout
c) proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution
d) maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control)
and
e) communicate with Jurong Channel on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.

Submarine outfall inspection works

For approximately 2 weeks, submarine outfall inspection works will be carried out [off Aberdeen] within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D):
(A) 22 deg. 14.803’N / 114 deg. 08.487’E
(B) 22 deg. 14.786’N / 114 deg. 08.517’E
(C) 22 deg. 14.740’N / 114 deg. 08.485’E
(D) 22 deg. 14.758’N / 114 deg. 08.456’E

The works will be carried out by one work boat and one survey vessel. One guard boat will provide assistance.

A working area of approximately 25 metres around the work boat will be established. The hours of works will be from 0800 to 1800 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will not stay in the works area outside the hours of work.

Diving operations will be carried out from time to time during the hours of work.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear of the works area at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working in the works area.

Marine operations halted due to high winds

Dammam Port Marine operations were suspended due to strong winds from 11.30 hours local time today (21 June). For safety reasons, the Port Authority/marine department halted ship movements for docking/undocking during high wind speed.
