The BDI gained 29 points earlier on today and now reads 1,718 points; Geopolitics already shaking trade to its foundations.  We are not just in a Trade War, we are in  World War III. John Faraclas’ daily briefing:

It’s all because of the Capes gaining another 99 points with the BCI now standing at 3,304 points. One size doesn’t constitute a market!

The Panamaxes’ BPI was up nine points at 1,566 points…

Five points plus for the BSI’s Supras now at 1,028 points.

Stagnation for the Handies BHSI; still at 560 points…

The Wets move upwards; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 723 – plus ten and 500 – plus four points respectively!

The WTI was well below US$70.00 at US$67.78 “exercising” some optimism!

The Geopolitical front remains as perplexed as you have never ever imagined…

The Migrants saga remains on top… There isn’t as yet the political will to end this despicable and inhumane mess for millions of people…

The Wars in Syria and Iraq as predicted get from to worse and Israel’s intervention must be closely watched as it will trigger a wider conflict; equally Iran’s multiple  threats must be curbed one way or another…

Turkey will soon become a liability for all in all fronts;  financially Turkey has gone busted… Politically an authoritarian regime headed by president Erdogan will rock the boat and create a big mess to all of Turkish neighbours…

Fire Smog covers the plain of Athens

Next door Greece amongst all the current financial and political issues, needless to mention the geopolitical ones face with today witness the inability of the current regime to contain and respond to wildfires in Attica and elsewhere… Whatever has happened for which will find the truth the response was out of any proportion low. Thank God the military and in particular the Greek Navy as well as the Hellenic Coast Guard got involved and saved many people – evacuations, search and rescue you name it they have done an excellent job. There are at least two fatalities, injuries, unaccountable people too. The worse is when the water supply for one reason is cut off and you cannot save your house; shame! Waiting for the day after…

BREXIT, a non-deal by accident? We shall see! Issues are crucial…

The EU continues to be in a mess. Add that president Trump believes that Europe and NATO are fine even without the USA!

The North Korean saga continues; CAUTION!

More news before midnight; until then be on guard from any action and threats emanating from Pirates, Terrorists and any Criminal whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean!
