The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) lost 41 points and now thanks to the volatile Capes, reads 1,732. Geopolitics getting more perplexed. John Faraclas’ brief market recap:

The Capes back again to volatility – 104 points were wiped-off earlier on from the BCI which now stands at 3,550 points.

The Panamaxes BPI also continued to lose ground and went below the 1,400 threshold now standing at 1,386 points.

The Supras’ BSI saved the …day for the Dry Market indices clinching …two points and now reads 1,032 !

Minimal but …loses for the Handies’ BHSI with one point minus – 541!

The BDTI (Dirties) was down nine points at 749 – await the Cleans’ figure.

The WTI stood slightly higher since yesterday at US$69.15 – MUST drop and read anything below the US$50!

Good to see that the Dow Jones approaches historical highs as well as NASDAQ and S&P, but be cautious !

This interesting news come from Vesselsvalue:

Harvey Gulf offer their $836 million fleet for merger with GulfMark

Harvey Gulf this week announced in the media that they have offered a rival deal to merge with Gulfmark. This comes hot off the heels of July’s announcement of a deal between Tidewater and Gulfmark.

Matthew Freeman, VesselsValue Director, states:

With a combined fleet size of 274 vessels, a merger between GulfMark & Tidewater would lead to one of the largest OSV fleets in terms of overall size with an average age 10.7 years old.

If a merger would materialise between Harvey Gulf and GulfMark, it would mean a smaller overall fleet size of 129 vessels but with an average age of 9.2 years old.

The Harvey Gulf fleet consists of 57 OSV’s and 6 OCV’s (a sector that GulfMark does not currently have a presence in) so the main questions here are size over speciality and what the future holds.

The Geopolitical spectrum is marred with irresponsible politicians, warmongers – despite most being sixties and seventies guys and dolls… add the business hooligans distorting totally the meaning of democracy and Peace on Planet Ocean and see what you get and what yet is to come! SHAME !

MIGRANTS continue to be the number one issue world-wide and in particular in Europe but with wrong politicians “employing” even apathy what do you expect!

The Wars in Syria and Iraq as well as in the wider Middle-East  region continue and we hope that by next Spring all will be over or a general conflagration will be on which, coupled with Turkey’s aggression in the region will have incalculable repercussions for millions and create a ten-fold Migrants number moving to Europe.

The Russians are trying hard, even at any cost, to  maintain a bridge in the Balkans… CAUTION! Greek – Russian relationship will go to a historic low! You see one has to avoid mistakes at all costs; in this case the Russians had it…

Greece still in limbo… Add the wildfires’ inferno and what is yet to come…

Portugal on fire too… In California the Wildfires might go on for another month…

Climate change and too many heatwaves all over Europe with quite a lot wildfires will cause havoc…

Italy still in tatters, France and Germany too…

Hard or soft BREXIT looks we are going on extra time…

North Korea still a thorn…

China might melt down…

The USA will create a situation for increasing its dominance worldwide…

More news latter on…

Have a nice evening and continue to be on alert from actions emanating from Pirates, Terrorists and Criminals of any kind wherever you are on Planet Ocean!
