The BDI (Baltic Exchange Dry Index) clinched two points and now reads 1,727 amid an uncertain global political, economic and waring future. John Faraclas’ midweek briefing:

The Capes’ BCI lost 27 points and now stands at 3,560 points…

Good news for the Panamaxes BPI which went over and above the 1,400 points threshold at 1,403 – that’s plus 41 points!

The Supras’ rise continues, minimal but on a plus mode the BSI gained three points and now reads 1,045!

Stagnation maintained; the Handies’ BHSI grounded at 543 points.-

Mixed feelings for the Wets; the BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans)   stood at 731 – plus eight and 491 – minus one respectively.

The WTI  dropped, hooray hooray at US$ 65.01 ! Let’s hope same drops further; this is a MUST!

The Geopolitical main news we cover remain the same; MIGRANTS; The Wars in the entire Middle East region – Syria and Iraq at the forefront, Turkey – with the new Turkish vs USA dangerous saga growing fast and with harsh exchanges of  words from both sides (including actions which the weakest party will very soon regret) – president Erdogan should note that the USA and its president is not any Tom, Dick and Harry to bully, particularly right now.  The Germans (and Brussels) are trying to rescue Turkey; shame as they could have created peace and economic stability  in the region and conversely better economic climate long before! Turkish – Greek tensions continue despite freeing the two Greek military men as violations against Greece / Europe’s air space and territorial waters continue…

BREXIT – hard, mild or soft will turn the markets upside down. The wrongdoing derives from continental Europe; end of the story. as for the latest attack as well as other terrorists actions isn’t time one thinks of Capital Punishment?

Italy mourns the victims of bad maintenance; in shipping we are governed by preventive maintenance.

Brazilian presidential elections will be decisive this time. Prisoner  e president Lula might fight back…

China is trying to reassert itself both economically as well as Geopolitically. The South China Sea might become another hot point given the vested interests of Vietnam, The Philippines, Indonesia, Japan and the USA. CAUTION!

More news later on – before midnight; until then be on guard for any eventuality emanating from Pirates, Terrorists and any Criminals whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean.
