The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) lost 47 points earlier on today and now reads 1,614 – about to go under the 1,600 points mark. Geopolitics continue to be perplexed. John Faraclas’ brief recap:

The Capes’ BCI lost 168 points and now reads 2,826… what a triple-digit loss that was…

The Panamaxes were also losing ground; the BPI was down 31 points and now reads 1.608 points.

Plus seven points for the Supras’ BSI now standing at 1,128 – quite a performance lately…

The Handies’ BHSI gained three points and now reads 559.

A downwards Dry market with whatever this entails; Caution as the gap widens – 663 points (2,247 – end Dec 2013 – minus 1,914 today= 663 points…)

The Wets… The last published BDTI (Dirties) lost six points and now reads 789…

The WTI was up at US$ 70.25; another area of caution…

Chaos with the perplexed geopolitics:

The MIGRANTS: total mess in all fronts; add some nasty stories which we expect to see their full reality before condemning any side… If  somebody called a fast one, oh well… let it be…. But if there are more than ten culprits, then smash the traffickers rings as well as the espionage glitterati from the Anatolian coast of Turkey… Migrants trafficking with the involvement of well-respected groups must bring harsh justice! A despicable issue thanks once again to all politicians in the EU for their inability… What a lot of morons! We stand by this labelling! We can challenge you all live on an A1 TV station.-

The fall of Ildib in North West Syria close to the Turkish border, might also be the end of the war there and rebuilding will start; 400 billion dollars will be needed… Let’s see after the end of this despicable war how many will return back! A big bet. Russia expects a provocative action there which might ignite once again the entire region… Iran, as always supporting Syria, must also be cautioned! Israel too MUST not fall in the trap, no matter its material arms superiority… the messy situ remains in the Saudi Arabian – Yemen conflict…

Turkey is bankrupt; it remains to be seen when the IMF will step in… All in all a country to watch every second of the day… President Erdogan might bully all its neighbours; he is capable of doing so and the USA MUST stop him at any cost… Russia needs to understand that by creating a new proxy war, same will backfire in its territory… Wonder why there isn’t any communique whatsoever from NATO and the EU condemning the daily intrusion of the Greek and European airspace by the Turkish air force at a time when Turkey is bankrupt yet spending billions for these intrusions alike Greece whilst intercepting the Turkish jets. Same applies in Greece’s and EU’s territorial waters. Is Turkey a NATO ally to trust? Wake up!

Greece next door will soon live an upheaval… CAUTION as the new government reshuffle doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. A salad so to speak of people trying to remain in power… Expect a turbulent time / period until Christmas… Judging from the new minister of Shipping and Islands Policy… as well as other “stars” and “newcomers”… Shame! Nemesis though awaits…

The Balkans will also live despicable times very soon… fYroM, Kosovo, Albania, still Croatia with Bosnia and Herzegovina still with unsettled issues… Take cover…

Nothing will change in Crimea… Eastern Ukraine  – also another headache but president Putin knows best. Meantime there is in reality no way that sanctions affect Russia; it is an illusion…

Eastern Med will also become another focal point of confrontations, yes confrontations (in plural)…

The BREXIT saga continues and expect surprises… in all fronts… In the long run we are more than sure that BREXIT will be good for the entire United Kingdom AND the Commonwealth!

ITALEXIT? Might be and coupled with developments in Greece and Turkey might open both the Pandora’s Box of Revelations as well as the Aeolus’ Winds… Can you sail in turbulent waters? Eh! The Greek debt of 313 billion Euros can be …settled… The Italian one at 2.7 trillion euros looks possibly IMPOSSIBLE; Romans know best…

At the other side of the Atlantic despite the euphoria in the indices / markets etc… the Trump Administration is faced with Herculean tasks… Is an impeachment possible and can same floor down the USA’s economy?  Do gambla du fria…

The Pacific Basin too is in a mess; the North Korean mistrust with all in the region and China having its laugh… You dead well know what I mean. The South China Sea ready for hostilities of a multiple kind whilst Japan keeps a close eye in the entire region…

Latin and South America: another mess, another total mess with Venezuela totally bankrupt as well as Argentina sliding to financial chaos – remind you at the height of the Greece’s crisis they have been telling us that all is fine with Argentina! Spin doctors need to face Capital Punishment, as well as all those promoting fake news.

Pakistan is attracting interest to see the …innings of Iman Khan and how same works… Next door India watches…

All the  above put on danger Planet Ocean’s dire straits, which for one reason or another might close… Lets have a look and remind them to all of you as each of them greatly affects the peaceful trade and the well being of your tonnage: Aden, Bosporus, The Dardanelles, Gibraltar, Hormuz,  Malacca Straits, Suez Canal…

Another coming danger for shipping comes from the Chinese megalomania with the forthcoming Silk Road..

Mind the composition and age of your fleet: You need 50 (fifty) vessels at least being maximum five years old… You see, you have to be big to be beautiful and attract the charterers… Small  owners with ten ships will vanish… Big money will be in big hands…
