The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) lost six points thanks to the Capes’ fall… Geopolitics as crucial as ever… particularly on the platoon and financial sector… John Faraclas daily briefing:

The Capes’ BCI was down 25 points at 2,164 – …the classic volatile size…

Panamaxes were up saving the day with the BPI at 1,793; hope the 1,800 points will soon be conquered…

The Supras lost the 1,200 point threshold and now read 1,196 – minus four…

The Handies’ BHSI continue to prove that you don’t have to be big to be beautiful!

The Wets on the up; the last published BDTI (Dirties)  and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 922 – plus one and 600 – plus two respectively. The interest is focused on the Dirties and the subsequent 1,000 points…

The WTI stood at US$ 71.90 with tendencies for reversing, unfortunately the tide and go higher… Pity and Shame!

Geopolitics still in a mess all over Planet Ocean. Every nation must have a self-sustained policy to overcome any scenario that appears, otherwise expect more than a collapse with incalculable losses be it land, sea, air and the economy – bankruptcy so to speak…

The HR and the Environment in their entirety are the two main fields to watch!

D. Kate Pike delivering he speech

What a great event that was  today at Willis Tower Watson Building in the heart of the Square Mile! The 5th Annual International Shipowning & Shipmanagement Summit – ISSS was more than a success and a debate! Credits to the organisers, moderators, speakers as well as to the audience for their challenging questions and position statements. You can see respective articles in the site and more will follow.  The HR and the Environment to the fore and lets see the 2020 how will be tackled … beyond! A big BRAVO to KVH, Videotel, Intermanager, Shipping Innovation and all sponsors. Thee was a good turn out of the media fraternity!!!

On another tone and note, the HESGB new governing body was announced with Dimitris Monioudis being re-elected for a seventh term as president as well as the election of five women!

That’s all for tonight, have a nice evening and remain on guard from any actions emanating from Pirates, Terrorists and Criminals of any kind wherever you are on Planet Ocean!
