The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) fell below the 1,000 points psychological threshold; an expected fall and now reads 982 – minus 54 points. Geopolitics continue to deteriorate all over Planet Ocean. John Faraclas’ daily markets briefing:

The Capes’ triple-digit losses brought also another unwanted situ: the loss of the 1,800 points base and now the BCI stands at 1,775 – minus 117 points!!!!!

The Panamaxes were also affected with the BPI now standing at 893 points – minus 57 and loss of the 900 point threshold!

Losses for the Supras’ BSI now at 638 points – minus 22!

The Handies were also down with the BHSI now reading 423 points – minus nine!

The Wets with mixed feelings; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 868 minus seven and 664 plus five points respectively.

The WTI stood at 23:00 GMT at US$ 52.62 – it fell a bit since yesterday and let’s hope the fall continues…

We suggest caution whilst we are optimistic as, in case of War, shipping will move on; cynical but real…

The Geopolitical platoon is possibly the worse over a decade in all fonts and aspects…

Migrants, the Wars in Syria and Iraq, the East Med, Black Sea with the Sea of Azov an area of concern…

The Balkans are now under tension and we suggest calm as the ignition of a conflagration might happen – very possible. Instability will be the name of the name with Greece and fYroM locked in a deadlock despite the voting results in both countries… CAUTION. Turkey’s appetite and behaviour with nearly all of its neighbours might produce tremors as well as tsounamis …. The USA MUST end this Turkish appetite as the entire system / world will  shake down to its foundations…

A fulll house

On another tone and note the 10th Annual Marine Money London Forum at the Dorchester hotel surpassed its previous fame; over 360 attendees – 59 being women! A more than a timely event given what has happened during the last ten years.  Seven panels and seven individual speeches raised the stakes… a reception to be remembered for its excellent networking too!

Will revert with a full report as well as with many Geopolitical news and views; until then remain on guard from actions emanating from Pirates, Terrorists, Criminals and any Business Hooligan whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean.
