Tuesday, April 16, 2019, Singapore

A hydrographic survey will be carried out in the Straits of Malacca and Singapore, to improve safe navigation and smooth uninterrupted passage in the Traffic Separation Scheme (TSS), STRAITREP Sector 6 to 9.

According to the Singaporean Notice to Mariners No.04B of 2019, the overall survey will be conducted from 23 April to 5 August, during daylight hours only, by the survey vessel SSE MAZU (YDB3013).

The hydrographic survey will be carried out by means of multi-beam echo sounder with line spacing of around 100m at 5 to 8 knots within the TSS, and no towing-vehicle will be towed behind. This hydrographic survey will be implemented with reciprocal operation even in eastward course or westward course in the TSS.
