Reclamation at Pulau Tekong

The working period for reclamation works at Pulau Tekong has been extended.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.092 of 2019, the works will be carried out 24 hours daily including Sundays and Public Holidays from 29 September 2019 to 28 March 2019, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinate (WGS 84 Datum):

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

Reclamation work will involve filling, dredging and construction of revetment, soil investigation and soil improvement work. Soil improvement work will entail stabilized dredging, sand piling and deep cement mixing. The dredgers will be used for the bund construction within the working area. Safety boats will be in attendance at all times to warn and direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of working area.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 21 (Sembawang Control);
and
e) Communicate with Sembawang Control on VHF Channel 21 for assistance, if required.

Seawall reinstatement at Deep Water Bay
Friday, September 27, 2019, Hong Kong

For approximately 9 months, the seawall reinstatement works will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 14.325’N / 114 deg. 10.545’E
(B) 22 deg. 14.297’N / 114 deg. 10.582’E
(C) 22 deg. 14.238’N / 114 deg. 10.540’E
(D) 22 deg. 14.256’N / 114 deg. 10.513’E

The works will be carried out by one derrick lighter and one work boat.

A working area of approximately 30 metres around the lighter will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the lighter.

The hours of work will be from 0800 to 1800 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works area outside the hours of work.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Kusu Pilgrimage Season 2019

The 2019 Kusu Pilgrimage season will commence on 29 Sep 2019 and end on 27 Oct 2019. During this period, high volume of ferries and harbour craft carrying passengers would cross the East Keppel Fairway when plying between the Marina South Pier (MSP) and Kusu Island (Pulau Tembakul)… …Mariners shall keep a proper lookout for these craft and navigate with extra caution when in the vicinity of the recommended routes.

The traffic movement within MSP has been divided in two routes. The ferries and bumboats shall use the recommended routes…

…Masters of harbour craft shall proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution when approaching MSP and Kusu Island jetties.

The following buoys were laid on 23rd Sep 2019 and will be removed on 31 Oct 2019:

All harbour craft, except ferries operated by Singapore Island Cruise and Ferries Pte Ltd, plying to and from Kusu Island (Pulau Tembakul) shall:
a. Keep within the channel demarcated by the Kusu Beacon (Fl R 2.5s) and the yellow polyethylene channel buoy in position Lat 01 deg. 13′.526N Long 103 deg. 51′.427E when approaching and leaving Kusu Jetty;
b. Use the jetty at Pulau Tembakul (harbour craft jetty) for the purpose of embarking and disembarking passengers. This harbour craft jetty is situated about 65 metres northwest of the Main Passenger jetty. Harbour craft berthing there, shall not proceed beyond 10 metres southeast of their allocated jetty. No harbour craft shall wait at the entrance of the channel or at the jetty.

The two yellow polyethylene mooring buoys located off Pulau Sakijang Pelepah are meant for harbour craft to moor temporarily while awaiting passengers.
