Your Transformation Update from Fathom.World 27 Oct. 2019
Hello and welcome to the week’s Transformation,
India’s sudden announced ban of all single use plastics on ships in its waters will certainly get people’s interest this week. While such a move is bold and in line with growing global sentiment it is however going to be hard to enforce and of course difficult to comply with. One has to feel for the seafarer in this situation. Surely the answer is to ramp up port reception facilities first rather than putting even more burden on ships’ crews.
We also have two reports on the broad utilisation of drones in the ocean and shipping spaces as well as a look at the Portuguese KET project and look at DNV GL’s approach to testing connected ships’ systems to destruction.
Have a good week,
Editorial Director, Fathom World
