 Three Experts Round Out Team To Augment Disbursement Account Services and Enhance Customer Experience

SHARJAH, UAE – DECEMBER 15, 2011 — DA-Desk FZE, the company with a singular focus on the disbursement account process, today, after an extensive, year-long search, announced the appointment of three new executive directors, Marcus Demgenski, Managing Director, Domenico Maria Carlucci, Director Financial Services and Hans Christian Mordhorst, Commercial Director. The new members of the senior management team join Ken Anderson, who has been Operations Director for the past seven years.

New Managers Bring a Wealth of Experience to DA-Desk Customers
Both Marcus Demginski and Domenico Carlucci bring expertise from outside the shipping industry giving a fresh perspective on other industry’s best practices, while Hans Christian Mordhorst provides a balance with his deep shipping experience.
Managing Director Marcus Demginski, will lead the other directors in providing the optimal services and enhancing the experience of customers. He has focused his career on the management of industrial invoice and cost control service centres.  Most recently he managed the Finance Shared Services of LyondellBasell Industries in Brussels. He is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and during his tenure at Basell, he transformed the Finance Centre into a lean, KPI-led organization, focusing on tangible business process and working capital improvements.   He began his career with BASF in Germany and spent five years in France as CFO of its Horticulture et Jardin S.A. subsidiary in Levallois-Perret, France.
He graduated from the University of St. Gallen/Switzerland with a major in Finance and Accounting and holds a PhD from the same university.
Financial Services Director Domenico Carlucci, will focus on the Port Payables service and will also work to develop new financial services. He has spent his career in finance and operations in major multinational organizations in different regions of the world and in very diverse and multicultural environments.  He most recently managed the Back Office Operations for the Luxottica Group, Far East Region, as CFO & Operations Director.  He began there initially as Financial Controller and then as Finance Manager.  He spent the four years prior to that in Belgium at the Global Treasury of Levi Strauss & Co, Brussels, Belgium, as Head of Market Operations, initially as Treasury Risk Manager.
Domenico holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Scuola Normale Superiore, followed by two Post PhD Fellowships and productive research in top tier universities in Belgium and Japan.
Commercial Director Hans Christian Mordhorst, will manage ongoing relations with existing and new customers, agents and partners to ensure that these stakeholders derive the maximum value from the capabilities of DA-Desk.
Hans Christian has held executive positions in shipping since 1998 and is accomplished in building high-performing teams across cultures, having lived and worked in Germany, United Kingdom, Poland, Russia, Spain and the Netherlands. He has been responsible for general management of all aspects of liner and short sea shipping. Most recently he served as Chief Commercial Officer for Team Lines GmbH & Co., a leading European short sea shipping company, where he was responsible for all processes and functions related to sales and client relationships.
Prior to this role, he was Managing Director at A.P.Moller-Maersk Ltd., Russia, responsible for all Maersk Line’s activities in Russia, Finland and Baltic states for three years and before that European Sales & marketing Director for P&O Nedlloyd Ltd., a container line that was acquired by Maersk Line in 2005.
Hans Christian graduated from the A.P. Moeller/Maersk, Denmark Management Trainee Program and is a Member of Chartered Institute of Transport (done at HSST – Hamburg School of Shipping & Transport).
Ken Anderson, who is continuing in his role as Operations Director and has been with DA-Desk for eight years, ensures that services are delivered with efficiency, responsiveness and quality. He will continue to work closely with the strong team of DA-Desk Operations managers.
Anderson has more than 30 years experience in the shipping industry.  He has held positions in vessel operations, shipping accounts and demurrage settlement, marine engine building and spares and online marine and aviation sales, at some of the top companies including British Steel Corporation PLC, The Denholm Group, Sulzer and William Doxford & Sons, Ltd.
Ken holds an MBA from Glasgow University.
